Overview

  • The government have announced a further review and consultation of tipping and service charge practices.
  • The data from which the governments course of action will be chosen is thin on the ground with no clear proposals.
  • We are concerned that this will lead to ill informed decisions causing lasting damage to our much-loved hospitality industry.
  • Seizing the initiative, we are developing a questionnaire to propose as a document mandatory for completion by all hospitality operators.
  • The proposal will provide clarity, simplicity and choice.

 

How will we achieve this?

  • We have put together a campaign team to formulate and implement the strategy that will drive the campaign forward.
  • We will hold a workshop on 1st June 2016 with hospitality industry experts to develop the mandatory questionnaire that we will later propose to the government before the end of the consultation period on the 27th of June 2016.
  • We will have a live petition to raise support for the campaign.

 

Goals

We need everyone to act urgently covering the Tipping Point Campaign and/or by signing up for the Tipping Point Campaign petition and encouraging as many people as they can to do the same!

Over 10,000 people sign the petition before the 27th June 2016.

The government to implement our proposal and increase transparency within the hospitality industry.
